Having owned a Murvi for ten years I have been dragged off an assortment of fields and camp sites about half a dozen times. – (Once at a Murvi meet at Powderham Castle).
The first time it happened I was dismayed to find that the screw hole was totally blocked with rust and verdigris. It took the the RAC about 20 minutes to clear this muck out before I could get the towing eye in.
Ever since, I have filled the hole with a heavy duty grease which solved the problem.
It’s also a good idea to leave the towing eye where it can be got at quickly & easily, not in that monster tool kit at the back of the locker.
