Ingrid and Billy Gawthorpe
As promised these are the details of the York Meet, which will directly follow the Pickering Meet. We will be staying on a site 4 miles outside York in the village of Naburn, which has easy access to the city.
The site is also very close to the Designer Outlet. There is a regular bus service into York and also a cycle path following the River Ouse. The village has a pub and a waterfront café/ bar overlooking the marina. We will be organizing an evening meal at one of these venues probably on the Thursday evening.
The historic city of York has many attractions including the 13th Century Cathedral, the city walls, the National Railway Museum, Clifford’s Tower, The Castle Museum and The Jorvik Viking Centre. There is also an Art Gallery, many opportunities for shopping and dining with a choice of pubs, restaurants and tearooms including Yorkshire’s famous Betty’s. If members wish it is possible to organise a guided walk around the city. Please let me know if you would be interested.
