a pre meet before the AGM

At Ripley Caravan Park

Ripley, Harrogate HG3 3AU

Booking is now open for a rally immediately prior to the AGM at Pateley Bridge, at Ripley Caravan Park, Sunday 14th April to Thursday 18th April 2024.

We will be just outside Ripley Village/Castle which is ideally placed, being about halfway, approximately 20 minutes driving, between the A1M and Pateley Bridge.

Our hardstanding pitches are grouped together, each having hookup, water and waste. Facilities are comprehensive, the leisure block including a heated indoor swimming pool, shop and information area. Members will appreciate the availability of hookup, and being able to move on with fully charged batteries, as there is no hookup at Pateley Bridge.

The Owner/Manager, Phil, has reserved 30 pitches for us until 1st April on a ‘first come first served’ basis. The rate for our members is reduced to £25 per unit per night.

Bookings should be made directly to the site, by telephone only, 01423 770050, when a £20 non-returnable deposit will be required. The site is closed during Winter so access to reception may not always be possible in which case you can leave a message for a call-back.
Full payment will be due 2 weeks before your booking. When you book you must mention the Murvi Club.

After booking with the site, please let us have your details by completing this form

Do feel welcome to contact me if you have queries.

Further Information:

The location is good for walking and local visits. There is a hard surface footpath/cycleway to Harrogate from which another narrower footpath follows the Nidd Gorge to Knaresborough. The local regular bus service runs until around midnight directly to and from Ripon (Fountains Abbey), Harrogate, Harewood House and Leeds. There is a good bus service between Harrogate and Knaresborough.

The Boars Head, a traditional coaching inn and restaurant, is less than a 10 minute walk in the village, from where we can further visit Ripley Castle itself. Or we can just enjoy the castle grounds with its abundant wildlife, thousands of Spring flowers, ornamental lake and waterfall, a walled garden with its April show of hyacinths, hot houses, thousand year old oak trees, specimen trees from around the world and the deer park. There is also the Castle Tea Room (pre-book only) and the Grindhus Coffee House

The walk through the Nidd Gorge is rewarded by an opportunity to enjoy the Market Town (Wednesday) of Knaresborough with its riverside attractions, its castle with those stunning views, quirky shops, pubs, cafes and tea rooms.

We can cycle, walk or catch the bus to Harrogate, famous for its fabulous flower displays and gardens and of course the amazing Betty’s Tea Rooms in the town itself or up at RHS Harlow Carr. The latter being worthy of a day visit itself, with adequate parking for motorhomes, but also accessed by a good walk through and beyond the Valley Gardens.
