to follow-on from the End of Season meet
At Melrose Caravan Club
High Street, Melrose, Scottish Borders, TD6 9RY
Having recently read an article in the summer edition of MMM about the delights of Melrose in the Scottish Borders, I have decided to follow-on from Roger’s End of Season meet at Berwick-on-Tweed with 3 nights from Monday 14th to Thursday 17th November at Melrose Caravan Club site. It is about an hour's drive from Berwick on Tweed.
There is currently space at the site, which has 58 pitches in total. However, if you would like to join me you will need to book in as soon as possible as the site runs at 96% occupancy all year! That probably says a lot about how good the area is. There is some great walking direct from the site but if the weather is against us the town also seems to offer plenty of wet weather alternatives. It is a five minute walk into town. Further details about the site follow. The cost is £5.80 per adult and £6.40 per pitch for Caravan Club members. The site is open to non-members of the Caravan Club who pay an additional £12 per night pitch fee.
This is an informal meet, so if you are interested, please book yourself into the site using the Caravan Club’s Website, www.caravanclub.co.uk, or telephone 01342 327490 (central booking number) or the site itself on 01896 822969. Please email me to let me know that you have booked (juliaright@aol.com) or text me on 07740 406449.
Melrose Gibson Park Caravan Club Site, High Street, Melrose, Scottish Borders, TD6 9RY
Melrose Gibson Park Caravan Club Site is nestled on the edge of Melrose in a peaceful setting that is overlooked by the beautiful Eilden Hills, once named Trimontium by the Romans. A short walk from the caravan park are the charming shops, lovely restaurants and pubs and historic buildings of Melrose, including the famous ruins of Melrose Abbey, the resting place of Robert the Bruce's heart.
Walking enthusiasts will be delighted when visiting Melrose Gibson Park Caravan Club Site - there are 1,500 miles of footpaths to explore along the banks of the Tweed or by hiking up into the High Country to view the Borders' picturesque, rural patchwork. The caravan site also gives you easy access to excellent cycle routes as well as fishing in the River Tweed. There is plenty to see and do in the local area and the site is also well placed for exploring the Scottish Borders.
Visitors to Melrose Gibson Park can now take advantage of the new railway line that connects the Scottish Borders to Edinburgh. The site is around 1.5 miles (30 minutes' walk) from Tweedbank Station. The train can get you into the heart of Edinburgh in just 55 minutes, avoiding the traffic and park and ride.
Local offers include 10% discount on meals at the Kings Arms, if you show a current Caravan Club membership card.
