albert memorial manchester

The Albert Memorial, built two years before the more famous one in London

The meet is based on a pub car park just south of the city centre, a few minutes walk from the Manchester Metro and a short journey to the centre of the town. Steve Little will do a series of guided walks round the city looking at its architecture, history and development, including the world’s oldest railway station and the Grade I neo-gothic Town Hall. One lunch will be in a private library founded in 1806. One afternoons walk will be based on a visit to the Manchester’s Police Museum which we will have to ourselves.

The pub is a multi-roomed, friendly establishment close to shops and other amenities.

The numbers will be limited because of the nature of the meet, the guided walks and the size of some of the venues we will visit.
