At Castle Howard

BBC Countryfile Live is coming north to Castle Howard on 15–18 August 2019. BBC’s Countryfile is one the Britain’s most loved TV programmes, attracting over 5 million viewers each week and this year celebrated it 30th anniversary.
After all the delays, and in contradiction to assurances received in December, it seems the temporary site for the first Countryfile Live in the North will NOT after all be organised by the Camping and Caravanning Club.
We now gather it is the Caravan and Motorhome Club who will manage Camping at Castle Howard. However at a first glance it appears that organisation and fees at the temporary site are very similar to those organised by the CCC at Blenheim this year and previously.
Vince and Christine will be at the camp site for 5 nights, which covers all 4 days at the show. So if any other members wish to meet, informally, at the show, or at the camp site, we can coordinate that.
The minimum number of nights for which you can book is 2. So if, for example, you book 2 days of show tickets you could arrive the evening before, enjoy two full days at the show, leaving when the show closes at the end of your second day. We should remind you if you plan to arrive on the morning of your first day ticket you might experience considerable traffic delays, not least at the Hop Grove roundabout where the York A64 bi pass and dual carriageway end!
The Camping Pass does not include day admission tickets to the show. These can also be purchased through the Caravan and Motorhome Club booking site which is now up and running. There are good discounts for CAMC members. You will need one day admission ticket per person for each day of the show you plan to attend.
We have both twice attended the show at Blenheim for 4 full days each time. So obviously we found plenty of entertainment, family or otherwise, with lots of opportunities, especially if you are a Countryfile fan, to meet the presenters.
The campsite is situated in the stunning grounds of Castle Howard, just a short stroll from the entrance to the show and the perfect base to explore the show and the local countryside.
