We carry a Brompton bike under the fixed seat, so are tight for space. The handle of the coach bolt that anchors the seat prevents solid objects (such as levellers) from lying flat. This wastes valuable space.
it seems obvious to me that an additional hand wash dispenser fixed above the sink for dishwasher liquid saves bothering with the conventional bottle.
The Morello is a bit short on places to put your coffee cup when stopping for a quick break. To save having to set up one of the tables every time, I created two “coffee shelves” using bookends

A novel method for carrying a modern white water kayak.
Our Morocco has three round LED reading lights in addition to the larger LED lights. Recently one started flickering then after a while stopped working completely. The bulb had failed but it is an odd design with no identification markings and I wasn’t able to find a replacement online.
A family member recently returned from a motorhome holiday in Spain and promptly went down with a bad case of Giardiasis. This isn’t something I had heard about before but it is a parasite which latches onto the inside of the gut and feeds on the lining of the intestines.…

Brian Marshall sent in this tip: There was a post a while ago on a stainless steel fixed cup holder. I wondered how a removable one might work. Mine fits snugly between the backrest board and window and can be used anywhere along the window space. Ideal for tea in…

The fan above the kitchen can get very dirty but access to clean it is not possible without a bit of dismantling. This tip is about a simplified way to remove just enough of the fan to get at the parts most likely to need cleaning.
….when I primed the flush on my Thetford C200 toilet, brown gelatinous debris was pumped out of the water outlet
My dometic cassette toilet has given recurrent problems with leaking. It can be dismantled and silicon grease applied to the seals which improves matters for a time.

I am often asked how I get my sea kayak on the roof of my van. Here is a video I’ve made on how it is done.
When I use the hot water, I have been troubled by sudden temperature fluctuations; the hot water comes on hot then suddenly goes cold for a while before warming up again. The problem seems to be the temperature limiting mixer that over reacts. This is fitted to prevent children or…

Please note: This article describes a fairly major modification involving potentially lethal voltages and very high DC currents which could cause a fire risk. I am publishing it so Murvi owners can see what is possible but I would recommend having the work done professionally unless you are confident enough (or…
When using the grill there is the heat shield which you pull forward.
Many of us have found that the underfloor LPG tanks have several advantages: efficient storage and economy being two obvious ones. However, whilst touring in Greece in 2012, we were confronted with a major disadvantage – what do you do if you are running low on gas and there is…
Some of you may have seen the letter in the April 2017 MMM magazine about paintwork problems with a couple of Fiat Ducato based campers. The campers in the article were a 2004 and a 2005 Sea Sloop. The photos and the descriptions of the problem rang a very loud…
You know the scenario – you stop at a motorway services for a coffee. When you turn off the engine, your fridge bleeps at you and you change over to gas. And then, when you drive off for your next stint, you forget to change the fridge back to engine…
Do you find that the fluorescent tubes in the big Heki are more decorative than useful? MMM and Alan Major have both shown how to replace these tubes with LED tubes, but both methods require you to cut the cables and remove the ballast units. At the Peterborough Show I…

Pete Riley’s problem, and how he solved it. The initial post on the chat group: We have a 16 year old Morello. A fine specimen that we love dearly. However we have never had any success getting the heater to work properly. It gives a pathetic output. Yesterday I removed…
The shower has never drained very quickly in our Morocco and recently it has become so slow it was quicker to use a J-cloth to empty the shower than to wait for the water to drain away. After reading somewhere that there is a one-way valve in the shower drain…

Does your Dometic three way fridge run well on electric hook-up and on 12v but hardly cools on gas? This is a problem I suffered last year. The problem turned out to be a partial blockage of the tiny nozzle in the gas regulator . I watched the Dometic engineer…
Our previous van was a VW T5 conversion (a Bilbo’s Nexa) so, when we ordered our MURVI Pimento, we looked forward to having much more space and we treated ourselves to some more comfortable, high-backed, folding chairs for outdoor use. However, when we collected the Pimento we could not find…
We all know the primary use of the toilet cassette, but I saw someone had found a new use, which I now copy.

Our Murvi Morocco has a 100W solar panel which we found adequate initially but since buying a compressor cool box (Dometic CDF 26) we found after a couple of days off EHU in Brittany last September the batteries were getting a bit low. So it was time to look at…
Out toilet compartment has a rooflight made by a company called MKP which even over just a couple of years has become pretty dirty. It’s not anything we do in there, honest, the problem is it is double glazed but by the most useless double glazing company because there is…
The three-way ‘fridge fitted to our Morocco is an essential item, especially when it is hot outside but these absorption refrigerators do not work at their best when the ambient temperature is over about 30C. A compressor refrigerator is better for very high temperatures but it is possible to improve…

Just before our rally in Cornwall I gave our Morocco a wash and polish so she would at least look her best and if it rained the water would perhaps run off the paintwork quickly! Being a clumsy polisher I couldn’t help myself getting some of the wax polish onto…
This tip is probably fairly well known but if you use a SOG toilet the task of emptying it can be made slightly less unpleasant by adding a capful of biological laundry liquid to the toilet after you have emptied it. The enzymes in the liquid do reduce the smell…

I have found these long thin plastic boxes are great for holding books/maps. Easy access between the front seats but can still get through to the back. The black stripe is a piece of Velcro (the hook part) which runs inside the box then out through two holes to stick…
