Heligan Caravan and Camping is a five-star accredited campsite sitting high on a hillside in a small secluded landscaped garden with views out over Mevagissey Bay. It is naturally sheltered by beautiful woodland on the Heligan Estate, home of the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan. heligancampsite.com
I have reserved 20 pitches, on grass and hardstanding. Pitches will cost £23.25 per night, per van, including electricity. This includes up to two dogs. Campsite facilities include small, well-stocked shop, new state-of-the-art on site amenity block, launderette and drying room, dog shower.
Click here to reserve your place. Please do not book direct with the site.
A few steps through a side gate leads directly to the entrance of the Lost Gardens of Heligan and whether you are a keen gardener or not this is a visit not to be missed. It also has an excellent restaurant which we can you use without the need to pay for entry into the gardens.
Lobbs Farm Shop is next door to the site and contains a wide range of produce – meat counter, cheese counter, fruit and vegetables, dairy products, bread, soft drinks, local beers, local preserves, biscuits, chocolate, ice cream, smoked fish and many other items.
The fishing village of Mevagissey is a 40-minute walk on (steepish) public footpaths. Mevagissey is a traditional Cornish fishing village, where you can wander the narrow alleyways, browse gift shops and art galleries, or try the local ale in one of the many pubs. There is a bus service from the Lost Gardens car park.
The Pentewan Cycle Trail can be accessed from the site and is mainly off-road to St Austell.
Directions
Please be aware that Sat Nav devices tend to take you down a network of single-track Cornish lanes which are not the most direct route and can be unsuitable for larger vehicles. We therefore advise that whichever your direction of approach, please travel via the B3273 from St Austell. From this road, follow the signs to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The site is on the left-hand side approaching the gardens.
