Our November meet this year is back down south,
at South Lytchett Manor BH16 6JB.
We are booked in from Thursday 3rd for 4 nights departing on Monday 7th November.
The site has won the “Best campsite in Britain” award. We have just spent a few days there and I quite agree!
The agreed cost per unit per night is £20.This includes hard standing, electric and tv hookup plus free wifi throughout the site. TV reception and mobile phone coverage is good. The site shop bakes its own bread and has a small café. There are a couple of short walks available directly from the site, but for coastal treks over the Purbecks from Swanage or exploring the Purbeck Way from Corfe Castle to Studland you need to use the excellent bus service which runs hourly from the campsite gate. If you are of a certain age, your bus pass is valid any time after 9.30am - a good excuse for a lie in!
The nearest town is Poole, again, easily accessed by bus.
There are two pubs within easy level walking distance, The Baker’s Arms at 1km - strongly recommended. Great food and even a choice of menu for the dog - say no more! A little closer is the St. Peter’s Finger…..perhaps they were having an off - day when we stopped by for a meal.
Our Saturday night evening meal has been provisionally booked at a nearby craft centre at £25 each. A menu will be circulated in due course. The customary slide show will be at the same venue.
Bookings should be made via the Club booking system found here and reservations will need to be confirmed by paying a £10 deposit. The payment details are set out in the acknowledgement email sent confirming your booking.
